Before I left for the summer, I was working on a brief that was mainly mark making, I really enjoyed this process, the freedom to go wild with materials and then to see how these would fit into a product of some form. Along with this in the second year I looked at the body but concentrated on the pregnancy, the stages that the baby develops I found this interesting and I felt having a topic behind my work, made my ideas and designs more exciting.
As part of the summer brief I have decided to look at cancerous cells within the body.
Cancer is a nasty disease and sometimes very hard to battle. At the moment I one family member fighting with cancer, which she has had for 3 years, and another family member could have cancer again which I will know soon. So I have decided to try and make something beautiful out of an ugly reality.
These pictures are going to be the starting point.
